Idler Sets
The cumulation of materials handling system requirements and engineering design, NEC Idlers are complete assembles of Rollers and Frames, ready to bolt straight into your conveyor system.

With a huge variety of Frame and Roller combinations to choose from, NEC Idlers can be configured to suit your entire belt conveying needs.
Some of the idler sets designed to met specific needs are described below.
Garland Type : "Garland" troughing sets finds application where robust strength coupled with working flexibility and higher belt speed is required. These suspended sets are quickly and simply installed, and allow maintenance to be performed on them without shutting down the plant. For these reasons, the "garland" suspended system has been the subject of substantial research and development, resulting in their increasing use in the most diverse applications.
Troughing Sets : The drawings illustrate the arrangements of fixed carrying troughing sets with plain or impact rollers and the suspended troughing set “garland” . This assists the belt tracking by an auto centralizing effect. The troughing angle can range between 15 deg to 45 deg depending upon the application and the belt speed. The troughing sets generally has 2 or 3 rollers arrangement as per the requirement of the system. The troughing angle of 15 deg is applicable for 2-roll belt conveyors only. Impact rollers are generally used in troughing sets at places where material is loaded on the belt.
Self-Aligning Troughing / Return Sets : Sometimes the difficult working conditions of the plant results in a lateral movement of the belt. In this case a self-aligning troughing set is used which acts in a way that corrects the belt tracking and maintains it constantly in the central position. The self-aligning troughing set is designed as a series of rollers arranged in a trough positioned onto the supporting transom which itself is fixed to a slewing ring which permits rotation. The slewing ring (a large ball bearing) permits a rotation limited to 5-8 degrees and is sized in proportion to the vertical loading; a tapered roller bearing assembled to the shaft of the slewing ring, absorbs any side forces or overturning pressures. The installation of the self-aligning troughing sets is advised to be positioned on the upper strand rather than the return section, and used only when the working conditions require.
